A gentle first step
into school life.
The Twos class meets every Thursday morning. It is a calm, play-based introduction to being at school, made for children who are just starting out.
Everything you need to know
Day
Thursdays only - one morning a week, perfect for little ones just starting out.

Caregiver and Me option: If your child is not yet fully potty trained, a parent or guardian is welcome to stay in the building for the entire session. No child is ever turned away.

What your two-year-old learns at WCP
Our curriculum is built on Ohio's Early Learning Content Standards. For two-year-olds, every goal is delivered through play. Here is what your child works toward across the year.
Reading and language
Children are introduced to letters, printed names, and how books work. They enjoy listening to stories and rhymes, start recognising print vs pictures, and begin responding to what they hear by commenting and asking questions.
Communication
Toddlers begin to speak more clearly to express their ideas, feelings, and needs. They start attending to speakers and stories, follow simple directions, and grow their vocabulary through conversation and picture books.
Early math
An introduction to colours, numbers, and basic two-dimensional shapes. Children begin identifying and naming numerals through play, hands-on materials, and daily activities.
Social and emotional development
Learning to separate from parents, take turns, share, and ask for things in appropriate ways. Children develop awareness of classroom roles, begin understanding the outcomes of their choices, and build confidence with teachers and peers.
Music and art
Group singing, art projects, and creative exploration with tools like scissors, paintbrushes, and cookie cutters. Children are introduced to colours and learn the purpose of familiar classroom tools.
Science and social studies
Children explore weather and seasons, learn about animals, plants, and life cycles, and develop healthy habits. Social studies covers personal family history, cultural traditions, and seasonal holidays.
Based on Ohio's Early Learning Content Standards. All curriculum goals are drawn directly from the Ohio Department of Education's Early Learning Content Standards. View the full Twos curriculum guide β
